Cylindrical Grinding: We are having a cylindrical grinding machine with a capacity to grind up to a diameter of 500mm (20”) and a length of 3 meters (120”), with which we can meet our customers’ various requirements when highly accurate grinding is required. Our cylindrical grinding services are ideal for achieving precise tolerances and smooth finishes on round components.
Surface Grinding: Our surface grinding machine is capable to do grinding up to 600 mm X 600 mm X 1000 mm. It is well-suited for achieving high-quality grinding surfaces across a range of materials and component sizes.
FAQ about Grinding
The choice depends on the geometry of your part. Surface grinding is used to create perfectly flat, parallel surfaces on plates, molds, and flat tools. Cylindrical grinding, however, is essential for round parts like shafts, rotors, and spindles. At Accurate Edge, we offer both external and internal cylindrical grinding, allowing us to achieve high concentricity between the outer and inner diameters. For mission-critical aerospace components, we use precision grinding to reach tolerances as tight as ±0.005mm, which is far beyond the capabilities of standard milling or turning.
Heat treatment and induction hardening often cause slight dimensional “movement” or distortion in metal parts. Because these parts become extremely hard (often 60+ HRC), they can no longer be corrected using traditional cutting tools. Grinding is the only reliable method to “rectify” these components, removing the microscopic distortions and bringing the part back into its exact design specifications. Our grinding services at Accurate Edge are an essential step for hardened pins, gears, and shafts to ensure they fit perfectly into their assemblies with the required surface integrity.
Yes, we can achieve a wide range of surface finishes tailored to your application, including ultra-smooth mirror finishes with extremely low Ra (Roughness Average) values. This is critical for seal areas, bearing journals, and hydraulic rods where friction must be minimized to prevent premature failure. By selecting the correct abrasive wheel grit and bond type for materials like Stainless Steel, Inconel, or Tungsten Carbide, we ensure that your components not only meet dimensional specs but also the performance standards required for the UAE’s demanding oil and gas environments.
