Heat Treatment Services

Precision Thermal Processing for Industrial Metals

Accurate Edge provides specialized heat treatment services designed to enhance the mechanical properties and performance of metal components. As one of the leading heat treatment companies in UAE, we offer tailored solutions for annealing, tempering, and stress relieving—critical processes for improving durability, machinability, and structural integrity.

Our Heat Treatment Capabilities

We offer the following core services:

Annealing

Annealing involves heating metal to a specific temperature and then cooling it slowly to remove internal stresses, improve ductility, and refine grain structure. This process is ideal for components that require improved machinability or need to be reshaped without cracking.

Tempering

Tempering is performed after hardening to reduce brittleness and increase toughness. By reheating the metal to a lower temperature and then cooling it, we achieve a balanced combination of hardness and flexibility—perfect for tools, gears, and structural parts.

Stress Relieving

Stress relieving is used to eliminate residual stresses caused by welding, machining, or forming. This process helps prevent distortion, cracking, and premature failure, ensuring dimensional stability and long-term reliability of the component.

FAQ about Heat Treatment Services

Both processes involve heating metal to a specific temperature and cooling it, but the cooling rate is what defines the outcome. Annealing involves very slow cooling (usually inside the furnace), which results in a highly ductile, soft material with low internal stress – perfect for parts requiring extensive further machining. Normalizing involves cooling the part in still air, which creates a more uniform, refined grain structure and higher strength than annealing. At Accurate Edge, we typically recommend normalizing for structural components that need a balance of toughness and strength, whereas annealing is reserved for restoring workability to hardened blanks.

Processes like heavy-duty welding or aggressive CNC milling introduce “residual stresses” into the metal’s crystalline lattice. If left untreated, these stresses can cause the component to warp, crack, or fail prematurely in the field – especially in high-pressure oilfield environments. Our Stress Relieving process involves heating the part to just below its critical temperature and holding it there (soaking). This allows the internal atoms to rearrange and relax without altering the material’s overall hardness. This is a mandatory safety step for items like valve bodies, pump housings, and offshore sub-structures.

Precision is everything in metallurgy. We utilize PID-controlled furnaces (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) to maintain temperature uniformity across the entire heating chamber. This prevents “hot spots” that could lead to uneven hardness or localized grain growth. For every batch, we provide a full Time-Temperature Chart (TTC), which serves as a “metallurgical birth certificate” for your part. This documentation is critical for compliance with international standards such as ASME Section VIII and API 6A, proving that the part was soaked and cooled exactly according to the specification.
