Our specialized deep hole drilling machines are capable of drilling up to 12 meters (40 feet) in a single pass, with diameters ranging from 2 inches (50.8 mm) to 13.5 inches (342 mm). For finishing, our honing machine can process lengths up to 10 meters (33 feet) and diameters up to 20 inches (500 mm) in one pass.

Accurate Edge is one of the few facilities in the Middle East capable of ultra-long format drilling. We specialize in deep hole drilling and boring for components up to 12 meters (12,000mm) in length with a diameter range of 20mm up to 500mm. Utilizing advanced BTA (Boring and Trepanning Association) systems, we can maintain exceptional straightness and concentricity over these extreme lengths. This capacity is specifically engineered to serve the needs of the UAE’s oil and gas sector for manufacturing drill collars, stabilizers, and long-reach hydraulic cylinders.
Maintaining straightness in deep holes requires a combination of specialized tooling and precise machine kinematics. At Accurate Edge, we utilize a counter-rotation technique where both the workpiece and the boring tool rotate in opposite directions. This process significantly reduces “drill drift” and ensures that the bore stays perfectly centered along the axis of the part. Combined with our high-pressure coolant systems that flush chips efficiently, we achieve superior surface finishes and dimensional accuracy that meet the stringent requirements of aerospace and subsea engineering.
The choice depends on the internal diameter and the value of the material. Solid Boring removes the entire center of the material as chips, which is ideal for smaller diameters. Trepanning, however, cuts a core out of the center, leaving a solid rod behind. Trepanning is significantly more efficient for large-diameter holes (typically over 50mm) because it requires less power and is much faster. For high-value materials like Inconel or Duplex, trepanning allows us to “salvage” the core for other uses, providing a more cost-effective and sustainable solution for our clients.
